If you're anything like me, the "boyfriend" look has totally breathed new life into all those old casual slacks and trousers hanging in the closet. When I graduated from college back in '05 I invested in a bunch of "business casual" clothes for work, but as luck would have it my job is totally casual so most of those slacks and trousers are just collecting dust in the closet. I wear jeans pretty much every day and when I want to "dress up," it's usually in a dress or skirt. Rarely, do I think to pull out my old slacks. Well, today I decided to dust off a pair of olive green chinos and roll 'em on up... paired with a sexy strappy sandal and one of my all time favorite camisoles, I have to admit I was feeling kinda sassy in my chinos. Why didn't I think of this before people!?! A quick cuff and roll, and my stuffy, boring old slacks are fresh and modern.
What I'm wearing...
~ Ideology burnt orange crepe-y camisole
(you may remember this brand from Robinson's May before it was acquired by Macy's)
~ Olive green chinos
~ Old Navy jean jacket (love the cooper finish on the buttons)
~ J. Lo bronze sandals
~ Baker's handbag
~ Arden B. necklace
~ Target silver tone hoop earrings

Speaking of fun with old trousers, I'm thinking about trying my first DIY. I've been inspired by my DIY savvy friends Olivia at 406 Olivia and L at Avid Accents: My DIY Diary. These ladies are so very creative and talented. My little DIY project is not going to be as creative as some of the projects these ladies have dazzled their readers with, but I'm excited about it. I have a pair of black wide leg trousers that are just a little too big. I've been wanting a pair of cuffed black trouser shorts sooooo why not take my black trousers and put my DIY skills to the test. I picked up a needle and thread at the dollar store on my way home! Can't wait to show you guys how my little amateur DIY project turns out.
Thanks for stopping by!!!
