Deer In My Backyard

For those of you who are used to nature right outside your door, please pardon my excitement! Fabrice has been telling me about the family of deer that come to eat in the backyard almost every day and I've been waiting for them to make an appearance since I got here. Yesterday, we left the house around 6 o'clock to go to the movies, and there they were! I was soooooooooooooo excited and I quietly fished for my camera so I could get a few pictures!!! I can't wait to see if they show up again today!

O.M.G! Fabrice is laughing at me as I type. He said I'm like a 5 year old. What can I say, there are no deer eating dinner in the backyards of Gardena, CA.

Okay, so this post is is not just about the deer.  I did put on clothes to go to the movies... duh! The heat here is on a whole other level.  It has come to my attention that I am a layer-er and this weather does NOT require any layers. No denim shirts, no cardigans, no utility vests... nothing. I tried to put together a cool, breezy outfit for my movie date last night.  Fabrice actually loved the shoes and skirt so I guess I did alright.

Fabrice actually took these pictures for me!!! He said he'll be my stand-in photographer temporarily until I get a tripod, and in the event that he approves of my outfit. Lol! Outfits he does not approve of include anything comprised of boyfriend jeans or harem pants...Lol!

Top: JC Penney "Allen B" ($19.99) | Skirt: unknown | Shoes: Jessica Simpson "Casa" ($35.00) | Bag: thrifted | Earrings & Neclkace: Forever 21
So, you may have noticed that my hair is straight in these pictures. I got hair my done, which was my normal ritual when I would visit Fabrice once a month. I figured I'd go ahead and get it done before I moved as well. I was desperately in need of a trim and I figured it will take a me a while to find a stylist in Atlanta. My trim turned into a 2" cut, and even though I know it was absolutely necessary, it feels and looks so much shorter.  Buuuuut, it also looks super shiny and healthy so I guess I can't complain.

I really, really, really like this top and I honestly don't recall paying $19.99 for it. I believe it was in the Red Zone priced at $12 or less when I bought it a few weeks ago. I love the gray stripes and the asymmetrical winged silhouette.  It also has a fun stud detail on the droopy pocket for a little extra something, something. I think it makes for a great basic to throw over jeans, or a skirt, or anything really.  You can never go wrong with a striped tank and this one has some fun details that make it extra special.

As you can see, I tried taking pictures at night, but I did not set the camera to the night setting so they look a little orange, don't they? Oh well, better luck next time... but the result of taking pictures at night... no security blanket... i.e. no sunglasses! a friend of my mom's reads my blog and she asked why I always wear sunglasses in all my posts. Well, those of you who have been around a while know the deal. They just make me feel...ummm...less goofy...and more comfortable.

Thanks for stopping by!!!
