JC Penney?? Who Knew??

Aaahh JC Penney... Just the name sparks up nostalgic memories of memories of my Granna (my paternal great-grandmother).  I spent many-a-summer afternoon browsing through JC Penney catalogs (do you guys remember how thick those things were!) circling all the cool things I wanted for Christmas.  And year after year, Granna "surprised" me with nearly my entire JC Penney wish list plus some bonus undies, pj's and socks!

But that was in the 80's.. in the 90's (in about the 3rd grade) Penney's (as Granna used to call it) was quickly replaced by Limited Too and 3-5-7 (do you guys remember that store?) , and they were eventually replaced by Macy's, Nordy, Bloomies, and Forever 21 (btw, these are the stores that stuck along with a few additions).

Until recently, I can't say that I'd even stepped into a JC Penney since Jr. High, and I definiltey haven't been browsing their catalogs lately.  But boy, oh boy, have I been missing out.  There is a mall (I guess you can call it that) a few miles from my job that I visit often for lunch.  There is a Target and several little lunch spots on the front side of the mall, and it gets pretty busy and parking sucks, so I started parking on the back side of the mall with the JC Penney, Sears, and the US Post Office.  Not much traffic on this side (surprise!).  To get to the food court, you have to cut right through JC Penney and that is how I was reintroduced to JC Penney.  I was pleasantly surprised at how cute some of their designer collections were.. the Allen B by Allen Schwartz., Bisou Bisou, A.N.A and I Heart Ronson lines in particular are very cute, and of course, very inexpensive (It's still JC Penney).  Believe it or not, since it's so close to my job, JC Penney has become my go to spot (along with Target) when I need something to wear in a pinch.  Today, on my way to the food court to pickup some guacamole for our office Cinco De Mayo fiesta, I spotted these cute Allen B. tops on sale for $29.99 (seen here)! Can't beat that! I'll definitely be picking both of these up!
