Bow Back Dresses...

A few people asked about the floral bow back dress/tunic I wore yesterday in this post.  I mentioned that I picked it up at Forever 21. Well, you know what that means.  Finding another one may very well be impossible, although it was only about a week ago when I bought it.  We all know that the key to shopping at Forever 21 is to snag what you like on sight because you'll never be able to find the same item twice.  Forever 21's online store does come in handy sometimes if you're looking for something specific that you saw in store that wasn't available in your size, but their online store has hundreds of items to browse through so if you don't know what you're looking for it can be a little overwhelming.  Well, I happened to still have the tag and receipt for this dress, but even with the item # I had no luck finding this dress online.  So, I did a search for "bow back" and I found several cute alternatives in different floral prints, and super cute all black and black/white stripe versions as well!  I think I might have to get the all black one for $15.80.  You really can't beat that!

So, what do you think of these options? I wish I could have found the same one online. I just love the floral print so much, although I do like the blue floral above too.

In Full Bloom

Today was a rough day folks! I won't bore you with the details but let's just say I am thrilled for the long weekend! Fabrice and I are off to Bossa Nova for some fine Brazilian cuisine but I wanted to get my OOTD post up before we went because I'm sure we'll be out late.  If you live in the LA area, I'm sure you've experienced the deliciousness that is Bossa Nova! The food is DELISH! I can't eat there without getting the Coxinha appetizer which is essentially shredded chicken and cheese inside of a deep-friend doughy ball! *drooling* It is soooo good. I always get the sea bass with black beans and rice because I am a sea food fanatic, and beans and rice are pretty much a diet staple for me. I really do love them! Can you tell that I'm excited about dinner? Lol!

What I'm wearing...
~ Eggshell blazer
~ Forever 21 floral dress
(worn as a tunic because I have way too much to wear it as a dress! Lol!)
~ Indigo wash jeggings
~ Sheikh nude sandals
~ Forever 21 necklace
(This is the same necklaces I wore yesterday, btw)
~ Bakers handbag
(I warned you guys that I was gonna wear this purse out! Lol)
~ Michael Kors toggle watch
~ Mossimo sunnies

I got  ton of compliments on the floral dress/tunic today. I have to say that I do love it, and the best part is the price! I believe it was about $15.80.  I wish you could really see the colors. It really works as fall floral and a summer floral. And the back! It's just too cute AND you can even wear a regular bra with it because the cutouts fall perfectly just above the bra strap! Love that! Btw, what is up with F21 pricing?? Why the $0.80? I've always wondered that! Oh, and are the LA F21 stores the only ones getting bourgeois.  I walked into F21 at Del Amo and the sales associate said "Welcome to X-X-I," ummmm you mean Forever 21? hehe. I get it! the are trying to re-brand themselves as a classier establishment, but I like Forever 21 and they have a strong brand already? And does this mean that the new XXI will no longer have great prices ending in $0.80?  Things that make you go hmmmm...

A Fashion Lunch

Today, I met up with my dear friend Leslie of Fashion Du Jour for at little fashion lunch.  We had a great time browsing through the July issues of Elle and W and dishing about celebrity style.  Of course, the gorgeous Rihanna is on the cover of Elle, and I've already seen a good 20 blogs post about her spread.  It is quite fabulous.  There is no arguing that Rihanna is a fabulous model.  I don't really care for her as a singer, and wouldn't mind if she traded her mic in for good!  I'm just sayin...Anyhow, Leslie and I both agreed that we love Rihanna's style! She is a risk taker to say the least and although I can't say that I'd be down to rock all of her looks, I commend her for daring to be different.  On the other hand, Leslie an I did not agree on Eva Mendes' style.  Eva graces the July issue of W and she looks HOT in my opinion. I am actually an Eva Mendes fan all around.  I love her classic style.  She always looks so polished and her style reminds me of old Hollywood. Very sophisticated, sexy, and just plain chic.  Leslie completely disagrees with me on this one. She doesn't care for Mendes' style and describes it as "behind the times and always one step behind the trends." But, still I think that's what I like about Mendes' style....I guess I think of her as timeless.

What do you think of Mendes' style?

Well of course, we couldn't have a fashion lunch without snapping a few pictures!  As I mentioned before, Leslie and I planned to wear the same item styled completely different.  The item we chose was a black racer back tuxedo vest.  It really is a great vest that can be dressed up or down and you can totally see the diversity of the vest in our two looks.  We didn't tell each other how were were going to style the vest, and our looks are so completely different!

Arriving for lunch...

Leslie paired her vest with a denim button down shirt and pair of white boyfriend jeans (I am desperately searching for the right pair of white jeans!) for a casual look that's perfect for the girl about town who wants to be comfortable but stylish!

My look, on other hand, had a summer resort kinda feel to it, don't ya think?  I paired my vest with a flowy over-sized leopard print blouse (H&M, in stores now), and a pair of black trouser shorts (I Heart Ronson, $15 at JC Penney now) and my black Michael Kors pumps.  It's a look that I think would be perfect for a summer lunch or evening date, a girls lunch, or a girls night out!  The shorts keep the outfit casual enough for day, but I'd say the look also transitions perfectly into the night, too.

So we didn't spend the whole time posing for pictures! We did actually eat at some point.  We ate at Panera and I totally copied Leslie and ordered the Cobb Salad after hearing her order it. It was delish!

I so wish that I could get together with all of my favorite bloggers for a little fashion lunch!!!  Leslie and I had such a great time!!!!

Now before I go, I have one more exciting bit of news.  I am starting to feel like an "attention whore" as Olivia would say, but I was featured again!! Yipppee! This time I was featured as the Best Dressed Reader of the Day on Slaves to Fashion: Glamour Magazine's daily style blog! Aaahhh...Needless to say, I was beyond flattered when I got the email this morning.  Check out the entire feature here!  Who knew my thrifted Anny Taylor blazer would be such a hit!

Bubbling with Excitement...

*Please note: this post was written in advance and scheduled to post at 8 am on 7/1/2010*

Well folks, I am pretty excited! My first giveaway officially ends in one hour and 10 minutes, and I can't wait to pick a winnder! Cross your fingers, cross your toes, cross your eyes...hehe! Good luck to you all!

It's late so and I'm tired and I've been fighting a horrible cough for the last couple days so I'm gonna make this a quick post. This is the 2nd blazer that I picked up in my Goodwill haul (the one where I got the GORGEOUS pink blazer!).  I don't love this blazer as much as I love the pink one, but it is pretty damn cute if I do say so myself! I love the yellow plaid and it just has a really great shape!  I also think it is going to look FAB in the fall with leggings or tights and boots which is pretty exciting. I have to admit that I can't wait to whip out my over-the-knee black boots with this jacket. It will be my first winter in the south so it will essentially be my first REAL winter!

Speaking of moving to the south, I received some really awesome news earlier this week! As you all know, I recently got engaged and my fiance' lives in Atlanta.  Well, I had been fretting about finding a job in Atlanta and it was really starting to stress me out.  Well, crisis averted! My job has officially extended the offer to allow me to work remotely in Atlanta! YIPPEE!!! This is such a huge relief!  Not only has a huge job-hunting weight been lifted off my shoulders, but I really do love my job and I've been there four years and was dreading leaving!  So needless to say, I am a happy camper!  Fabrice is still in town visiting so he took me on a date tonight to celebrate.  :)
